Your Role and Responsibilities

Managing User, Package, Patch and Swap Management in Linux and Solaris environments.
Working knowledge on LVM, SVM, ZONES, LDOM, VXVM & VCS.
Configure and troubleshoot LVM related issues like – creating, resizing, extending the Volume groups and logical volumes.
Scheduling of automatic Repetitive jobs with Crontab.
Understanding and Troubleshooting the Boot process.
Implementing Raid levels like Raid 0, 1, & 5
Working knowledge on different file systems like EXT3, EXT4& XFS.
Patching administration in Linux servers, SVM, VxVm, Zones and LDOMS in solaris 10/11.
Worked on root disk mirror, disk replacement and patching in SVM, LDOM and VxVm.
Kernel Up-gradation on Linux Environment
Experience in replacing the faulted parts like: Hard disk, DIMM, CPU FAN and Motherboard.
Worked on Service management facility (SMF).
Decommission of Linux/ Solaris physical servers, VM’s , Server with databases and VCS nodes.
Experience on extending Swap, Memory, Disk, Filesystem in Linux through VSphere.
Working experience on solaris zones, LDOMS and ZFS.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Intermediate knowledge and experience for support of an enterprise Solaris environment consisting of 8000+ servers.
In-depth knowledge of server technologies and platforms,
including underlying hardware, managing zones, LDOMs, ILOM, etc.
as well as a history of working with a diverse set of applications sharing a complex infrastructure.
Experience with creating and managing storage infrastructures with ZFS and Veritas Infoscale, including VCS clustering.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

Troubleshooting capabilities of complex outage and performance-management/tuning issues is needed.
Knowledge and experience of reviewing user requests around user access management, sudo privileges, and security compliance exceptions.
Familiarity of identifying and creating automation possibilities and capabilities with development experience (Ansible, CFEngine, shell scripting, Python, PERL) is a plus.
Self-starter at managing multiple tasks and responsibilities surrounding the server operations.
Demonstrates a sense of ownership, pride and responsibility of the assigned servers. Knowledge and experience with Linux is a plus as well.”
