Your Role and Responsibilities

• Responsible for database administration (DBA) including development, design, install, configuration and support of database solutions that support business applications and systems. Also responsible for database availability, reliability, recoverability, performance, and the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of database software.

• Responsible for designing, implementing and providing operational database support for databases on several different DBMS (database management systems) technologies and versions, utilizing a wide variety of advanced DBMS features, on different operating system platforms for applications of differing complexities, disaster priority, mission critical designation, strategic initiatives, degree of standardization, practices, and usage of third-party software.

• Such responsibilities typically include advanced featured databases for complex environments for high priority applications.

• The operational database support responsibilities include those related to availability, performance, currency, integrity, security, and confidentiality of the database instances, database backups and recoveries, database disaster recovery, database growth and disk space utilization, database problem analysis and resolution, configuration files, operating system account and system level schemas, tablespaces, database patches, database upgrades, database compatibilities, database bugs and workarounds, database vendor support process, database documentation, new database release features and enhancements, advanced features associated with the DBMS (such as clusters), applications consultation, SQL tuning and object management, automation, and project implementation activities, such as physical design and installation of database environments and databases, generally for more complex, technically advanced, high priority projects.

• The position also includes one or more technically-based leadership roles, generally related to more complex and technically advanced databases, for project design and estimating, DBMS product certification, DBMS product or feature subject matter expert/point of contact consultation, direction and guidance regarding database management system features, best practices development and implementation, and standards development and implementation. Candidate will also be responsible for managing project and sustainment related deliverables, leading troubleshooting during incidents and identifying areas for automation and improvement. Candidate must have strong interpersonal & communication skills and be a team player. Candidate must also coordinate and provide 24×7 on call support as needed. Knowledge and Experience in fast paced and dynamic environment, Security Controls like SOX, PCI, SPI, MFA will be an added advantage.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Day to day Oracle database administration.

• Installation and configuration of Oracle software and databases.

• RAC, Data Guard, OID/OUD, OEM.

• Database patching, upgrades, cloning.

• Backup (RMAN), recovery of Oracle databases.

• Database performance tuning.

• Installation and configuration of Oracle Golden Gate.

• Shell Scripting.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Azure cloud platform and any of the other database technologies like MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB / Percona Mongo, MS SQLSVR would be an added advantage
