Your Role and Responsibilities

As VMware Administrator, you are responsible to provide technical support of VMWARE servers with high degree of Customer Happiness by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

Proven experience in designing, deploying and managing VMware NSX-T deployments.

• Demonstrated experience with network overlay technologies like VXLAN, OTV and EVPN/BGP.

• Experience with Spine-Leaf network topologies and popular switching hardware designed for use in these types of environments.

• Network components and concepts such as Routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls and other L2-L3 networking and L4-L7 services components and technologies from a variety of vendors.

• Virtual networking components such as NSX Edge Appliances, distributed firewall, distributed logical router, distributed and standard virtual switches, Nexus 1000V, CSR 1000v and ASA 1000v.

• L3 Routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF & IS-IS.

• VLAN, VXLAN, VPN, Unicast vs BUM traffic flows, IP Subnetting and other network design topics.

• Familiarity with automation or orchestration using Cloud Management Platforms is strongly preferred.

• VCP-NV and VCP-DCV certifications are nice to have, not must.

• CCNP (in R/S, SP, Data Center or Security) is nice to have, not must.

• Edge, DLR, Logical switch Creation and configuration

• Creation of firewall policies, IP SETs and Services

• VPN configuration for establishing site-to site tunnel

• Configure & manage Fortigate Firewall

• Debug VPN activities

• OSPF & BGP Configuration on NSX edges & DLR’s

• Load Balancer configuration, maintaining and troubleshooting on NSX LB

• ESXi Level Checks on VXLAN, Uplink connectivity and NW Services

• Testing activities (Eg: VPN Testing, Public IP Testing, Migration Testing)

• Debug and Troubleshoot traffic flows inbound and outbound on SDDC.

• Debug Routing protocol and Internet Traffic, NAT

• NSX Manager & Controller debug

• Re-configuring NSX while deploying new Hosts

• NSX Upgrades & Backup configurations

• NSX Edge / DLR Failover issues

• NSX Edge / DLR FW issues (Eg: Rules are not being applied to Edges

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Required Professional and Technical Expertise :1) Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.2) 6 years of relevant experience in a technical position (Support or System Administration).3) 6+ years of experience in Linux/Unix4) 5+ years of experience in VMware Vsphere5) Knowledge of managing Cloud Pak System (CPS) or Pure Systems is an added advantage6) Knowledge of Scripting python, power shell would be good7) Strong customer focus8) Strong multitasking skills9) Self-starter who is excited about technology10) Experience working with customers11) Experience analysing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for technical issues.12) Experience of managing any other cloud private and public cloud

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• RHCSA Certification or LFCS Certification

• VCP Certification

• Azure/AWS/GCP Certification (not mandatory)
