This position is for Leica Microsystems team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly skilled software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K Sqft.
Responsibilities:
Lead the team to successfully deliver project releases on time and the with desired quality
Provide accurate project estimations, identify resources/competences, develop project plan, and deliver to the schedule. Ensure that risks and issues are identified and managed closely
Work closely with relevant teams internally to ensure alignment and coordination. Ensure awareness, involvement, and support from the key partners – maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle
Help with gathering requirements, creating functional specifications, and creating and reviewing user stories and technical specifications
Write code that is easy to understand and fits with existing patterns
Conduct peer code reviews and perform unit and integration testing
Analyze, debug, and solve complex technical issues and customer concerns
Communicate and interact effectively with customers, product management, documentation, training, deployment, support, and other departments within Leica
Mentor and coach team members on their technical and career development
Know the latest on software technology, concepts, and tools, as well as related and competing products
Institutionalize industry standard software engineering processes, practices, and methodologies
Aid in recruitment, assimilating necessary technical knowledge and building team to meet organizational goals
Conduct performance evaluations, provide timely and frequent feedback, and set objectives for team members
Develop innovative medical software applications as part of international cross-functional team
Our Expectations:
Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent
12+ years of relevant work experience in enterprise/commercial/medical software product development
3+ years of proven experience in in people management, possessing influencing skills, ability to gain agreement or acceptance through influence, persuasion, or negotiation
Proficient in at least one of the programming languages: C/C++/C#
Very good knowledge of software development tools, patterns and processes (Agile principles, SCRUM, SAFe, V-model)
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Continuous improvement mindset
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
