About the role

We need a writer with excellent command of the English language, strong research abilities, especially with internet tools and search engines. The writer should also be comfortable writing about diverse topics, including marketing, industry trends, engineering, finance, science, technology, and culture. The ideal candidate is someone who loves constantly learning new things, and who is deeply curious about the world.

This writer will help support clients’ as well as internal content needs by crafting engaging, SEO-compliant articles that turn complex topics into digestible, easy-to-understand content.

Job description

This is a full-time, remote contract position. Writers create high-quality informational content on a wide range of subjects, that fulfils our clients’ requirements and adheres to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Write accessible, clear content that address the needs and queries of the audience
• Update/rewrite and optimise old content
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the editorial team
• Attend daily virtual meetings
• Turn in at least 16,000 words of content each month that meets our standards
• Be self-motivated with excellent time-management and organisational skills
• Learn and grow your skills as a writer and digital media professional

Required experience/attributes/skills

• 2 – 4 year’s professional experience
• Native-level spoken and written skills in English
• An extensive reading habit including fiction and non-fiction in English
• Flexibility to tackle a variety of different content types and styles
• Ability to follow style guides, brand guidelines and voice standards
• Strong research skills
• High degree of skill and ease with internet tools, apps, and search engines
• Advanced skills with Google Docs and Microsoft Word
• Intermediate proficiency with Google Sheets, Slides, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with SEO best practices
• Discipline to work to non-negotiable deadlines
• Your own laptop or personal computer with Windows 10 or higher
• A stable, high-speed internet connection

Great to have

• An academic degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Experience writing features and social content
• Knowledge of popular culture and memes
• Experience working with a CMS
• Basic proficiency with image editing tools such as Photoshop or equivalent
