Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and skilled R&D professional to join our team as a Downstream Processing Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing purification processes for biotherapeutics, enzymes, or other biologics. You will work closely with upstream, analytical, and formulation teams to support process development, scale-up, and tech transfer activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and execute laboratory-scale experiments for protein purification and downstream process development.
• Optimize chromatographic steps (affinity, ion exchange, HIC, SEC, etc.) and filtration techniques (TFF, depth filtration).
• Develop scalable and cost-effective purification strategies for new products in the R&D pipeline.
• Analyze samples using techniques like SDS-PAGE, HPLC, ELISA, UV spectrophotometry, etc.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, observations, and results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for upstream process integration, analytics, and scale-up.
• Support tech transfer to pilot or manufacturing scale, including documentation and training.
• Participate in literature reviews and remain up-to-date on emerging technologies in downstream processing.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and R&D best practices.

Qualifications:

• M.Sc. / M.Tech / Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, or related field.
• [1-5] years of experience in downstream process development, preferably in a biopharma or life sciences R&D setting.
• Strong understanding of protein purification principles and techniques.
• Hands-on experience with AKTA systems and various chromatographic methods is a plus.
• Familiarity with DoE (Design of Experiments) and data analysis tools is desirable.
