Our client is a leading EV Component manufacturer. Our client is a global player in the domain of electric drives and motors with industry leading EV Tech (axial flux and radial flux technology) and a potential to exponentially expand in the ever growing EV market in India.

Job Description

Single point of contact for CAD Designing for mechanical development while working alongside Suppliers to develop new parts and give targeted insights on material selection

Leading the entire CAD Design function end to end for the organisation

Single point of contact for new parts development with the suppliers

Quickly understand and further optimise our in-house mechanical design capabilities and make organisation self-reliant

Support Procurement, Suppliers and other vendors with technical specifications, support, insights and recommendations on material and component selection

Participate in technical design review sessions to evaluate solutions. Developing detailed drawings of new products that include lists of materials needed, step by step instructions on how to manufacture the product, and a list of any equipment required for assembly

Contribute to the DFMEA/FMEA, 2D/3D Modelling static & thermal stress analysis process.

Conduct feasibility studies and develop high level designs.

Demonstrate design are robust, cost effective and fit for purpose

Define appropriate manufacturing routes where required

The Successful Applicant

Minimum 7 years of core CAD Designing experience in EV/Automotive industry with a solid academic background and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical product design experience in categories like sheet metal, plastics, rubber, magnet and die casting aluminium will be strongly preferred. Candidates with exposure in Motor/Controller design will be desirable

Tools/Software – Solidworks, CAD, CREO, Auto CAD, Catia, etc. experience in either of these or familiar tools will be mandatory

Drafting and customizing the 3D/2D drawing of the parts/products/assembly using relevant software/tools

3D CAD and thermal FEA / CFD experience would be an advantage

Product/Design Simulation exposure will be highly desirable
