A new team being built in Azure AI in collaboration with Microsoft research, is looking for a Software Development Engineer to work on the core low-level infrastructure for all AI workloads in Azure. We are looking for an engineer with a passion to improve the state of the art. The work involves solving low-level systems problems such as GPU state and memory management, high-performance distributed storage, and high-speed networking optimizations. It is a mix of cutting-edge research, and simultaneously high-visibility product impact.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced engineer with proven skills at both junior and senior levels, to deliver on the ambitious goals of the team.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong technical skills involving design and coding

• Hands on experience implementing solutions

• Strong programming skills in C++, C, C#, or Java

• Effective communication and collaboration skills

• BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science or related field

• 15+ years of experience in software development with large, multi-discipline teams

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with system design, low-level operating systems, performance tuning

• Experience working with cloud and large scale data

• Working experience with ML, deep learning, and python
