The team you would be joining is the Azure Cloud and AI IGD team of architects and contributes to the success of customers by architecting, designing, and implementing cutting edge solutions on the Azure cloud platform. Our team is offshore delivery engine for Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) and dedicated to supporting our customers and their ongoing journey to Azure including modernizing and optimizing their existing IT investments. We help our customers explore how they can leverage their infrastructure more effectively and secure their operations whilst tapping into the power of their data, applications, and everything their IT estate can offer. We provide technical direction to our customers who are deploying, maintaining, or innovating solutions using the latest technology. We enable our customers to have the skills to deploy, support and maintain their environment in line with Microsoft best practices.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to combine their technical passion, creativity, and customer focus to deliver great solutions to their customers and ensure they get the best out of our technologies and solutions.

Responsibilities

Pre-Sales

• Understand customer expectations, pain points and expected business outcomes and envision the best possible solution based on the Microsoft Azure Cloud and AI
• Propose the solution to customers, define the solution architecture and estimate the cost and schedule for the implementation of the solution.
• Enable Microsoft Consulting win new customers by providing enterprise class solutions.
• Take accountability for the technical estimates for the solution implementation. Architects are expected to be strong in estimation methods and derive on experience /learning from multiple projects.
• The individual will have good understanding of Cloud solution implementations using variety of technology stacks including Open Source and should be adept at proposing solutions for multiple alternate scenarios where customers can accelerate the adoption of the Azure Cloud.

Solution Delivery

• Architect has a good understanding of the business outcomes; the customer is expecting from the solution and can work with the customer to have clearly articulated requirements and solution design in line with business outcomes.
• Driving successful solution deployments together with wider Microsoft Consulting Services teams working in a globally distributed team across multiple locations.
• Architects in a delivery role are accountable for the quality of requirements, solution design and ability to guide their team through the build lifecycle to deliver a solution in line with customer requirements.
• The architect must have a good understanding of delivery processes and adept in usage of DevOps tools such as Azure Dev Ops etc.

• Review Projects for quality assurance on requirements fidelity, best practices, process adherence and proactive technical risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
• 8 – 15 years related experience in IT Industry with a Global Systems Integrator, IT Vendor, a Partner on Microsoft technologies or on customer IT team implementing enterprise Solutions. A significant part of the experience should be on Open Source.
• Have experience in one or more of the following.
  • Java EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and Hibernate.
  • Web based technologies.
  • Application/ web servers: JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere.
  • Data base technologies like Oracle PL/SQL, Mongo DB, etc.
• Good understanding and experience of OSS (Open-Source Software), CI-CD tools, other tools – Jenkins/Hudson, JUnit, GIT, Selenium etc.
• Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) / Micro-services/ Distributed Architecture
• Understanding of Cloud design patterns and similar Java patterns. E.g., Hystrix for circuit breakers, Lettuce for Redis, Flux/Mono/Reactive for APIs etc.
• Understanding of programming paradigms such multi-threaded program design.
• Experience in any Integration technology, queue technologies like RabbitMQ / Kafka and API Management
• Good understanding and experience in SDLC process (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall)
• Excellent technical and analytical skills
• Experience in working with clients to understand requirements, come up with the product architecture, design and estimate efforts required to move the application to Cloud.
• Good to have.
  • Certifications and/or experience Microsoft Azure or Open-Source Software technology
  • Certifications and/or experience in Agile Delivery and DevOps
  • Architectural training/certifications like TOGAF or IASA
