Job Description

Key Competencies
1.Basic understanding of ITIL Service Management Foundation, experience working within SLA’s and Ticketing
2.Experience of working in any ticketing tool
3.Effecting communication skills
4.Experience working with cross-functional Team in IT infrastructure support
Essential Skills:
1.Experience with Veritas NetBackup 8.x or above 4 to 6 years
2.Strong experience in Veritas NetBackup administration
3.troubleshooting skills and ability to identify the severity of the issue
4.Execute Backup and restore in a virtualized infrastructure – VMware
5.Duplication of Backup images
6.File system and NDMP restore
7.Basic LTO Tape Library Management
8.Proficient with Advance backup functions like Oracle DB backup, NDMP backups, VMware VADP backup, SQL backup, exchange backup
9.Good knowledge about disk storage unit and MSDP storage unit
10.Adequate understanding of SLP (storage life cycle policies)
11.Must be good with Unix file handling commands
12.Should be able to isolate and troubleshoot basic backup failure cause Network, port, and Connectivity
13.Must be very good with everyday Backup status reporting
14.In-depth Policy Management/Creation/modification skills
15.Backup Job Monitoring in a busy environment during Backup production Hours.
16.Basic knowledge of NetBackup appliances
a. Appliance health checkup
b. Appliance alerts
c. Monitoring
d. Understand very basic Hardware cases and Liaising with Veritas Support
Troubleshoot under the guidance of Sr. team member – e.g.: isolate issues of backup failures of application / OS / DB / library etc.
