Background on the Position
This new Associate role is part of the U.S. Banks Enterprise Risk and Governance (ERG) function and will focus on the generation of reports and analysis of issues across the U.S. Banks to meet internal mandates and regulatory expectations; there is also a component of quality assurance.
To be successful, the candidate needs to have relevant educational background (e.g., finance, business, programming), relevant work experience (e.g., BI development, data modeling, Risk Management, financial reporting), project and people management skills, exceptional computer application skills, and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. Information processed in the department is confidential and thus the candidate must demonstrate integrity.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Support the development, implementation and maintenance of issues dashboard
2. Generate monitoring reports across the full lifecycle of issue management (i.e., identification, recording, remediation, and closure)
3. Continually evaluate existing reports, processes and analytical tools to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
4. Liaise with other teams across the first and second lines-of-defense to follow-up on issues as a result of the data analysis
5. Perform quality assurance for the closure of issues
6. Assist with ad-hoc requests
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business, Computer Science, Engineering or Accounting
2. 2-3 years of work experience in reporting, analytics, and/or business intelligence in the risk management or financial services domain
3. Risk management experience with first-line or second-line of defense or internal audit strongly preferred
4. Strong reporting and analytical skills with great attention to detail
5. Knowledge of data visualization tools (Microsoft Power BI), data extraction and manipulation (SQL), reporting process automation (VBA), and proficiency in computer applications (Excel and PowerPoint)
6. Excellent relationship building and communication skills, both verbal and written
7. Well organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
8. Project management experience would be desirable
