Job Description

Position : Librarian:

• Maintaining data on computer storage media such as LTO Drives, Hard

Disk, DV Tapes, VHS etc

• Maintaining indexed cards and catalogues of the stored data
• Issuing data devices to the users
• Maintaining accounts of issues and receipts of data devices
• Weeding out obsolete data as per instructions given by data owners/controlling officers
• Ensuring required storing conditions and reporting deficiencies to controlling officer
• Indenting for gadgets and fixtures for maintaining the data devices

Educational Qualifications:

• Preferably, Bachelor’s in library and information science

Key Competencies:

• Skilled in maintaining data on computer storage media such as LTO

Drives, Hard Disk, DV Tapes, VHS etc

• Basic knowledge of computer database and extracting data when required
• Knowledge of making catalogues for tapes present in the library
• Ability to assess and examine any defects in the tape
• Ability to make sure no data is leaked or accessed without the permission of owner/controlling officer
• Knowledge of latest gadgets and devices that may be used for storing data
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting devices
• Skilled in making a record of all the inventory movements
