Main Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of a 24×7 infrastructure in line with agreed SLA’s
• Provide incident, service request and major incident support across the Cloud, Solaris Windows, Linux and Unix server estate
• Help remove the day to day tasks and improve team efficiency through automation and tooling
• Ensure all systems are maintained to a high security level which includes vulnerability mitigation, OS patching, system hardening, and configuration management
• Take ownership of infrastructure projects from initial implementation to transition
• Maintain a high standard of documentation and process management
• Perform pre-agreed out of hours work
• Customer Support Service 24/7

Personal and Technical Skills:-

• Experience across Solaris, CentOS, Red Hat, Oracle Linux, and Windows
• Understanding of Oracle /Sun’s Hardware and Software architecture.
• Understanding of Operating System performance analysis.
• Solaris LDOMs, File systems (ZFS, UFS), Live upgrade, Jump and start Patching.
• Administration, Solaris Kernel System Crash/Hangs and Solaris Kernel System Performance.
• Very good knowledge of Install Oracle Solaris Cluster software and Upgrade Oracle Solaris Cluster software.
• Good hands on experience of Oracle RAC configuration & ARM Disk configuration.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet etc.
• Scripting skills such as PowerShell, Bash, Ansible (YAML), Terraform etc.
• Knowledge of storage/SAN technologies.
• Basic knowledge of Network infrastructure, DNS, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, etc.
• Proactive and self-managing, with the ability to work as part of a team and individually.
• A passion for technology, keeping up to date with the latest technology trends
• Experience with VMWare / Hyper-V
• Experience of AWS/Azure/Oracle Cloud technology
• Worked in an ITIL environment
• Problem-solving skills & Excellent troubleshooting
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles
• Positive attitude to a support role and Self- motivated working style.
