Job Responsibilities:

1. Deliver news with evaluation based poise, authority and credibility in a conversational style. Shape a distinct on air identity in keeping with overall channel positioning.

2. Demonstrating energy, confidence and professional appearance. Prepare and/or assemble, and present story content in a fair, accurate and unbiased manner.

3. Collaborate with news producers and desk to conceptualize, produce and present specials and daily news packages. Deploy innovative ways of storytelling and contribute story ideas for special and daily news programs. Summarize information into easy-to-understand components. Utilize research data to enhance the quality of stories.

4. Review the show script prepared by the output team before the show, seek clarity and improvise the script wherever required.

5. Develop and maintain a network of news sources providing access to exclusive local stories. Gather news information and facts to improvise scripts.

6. Perform field reporting, fill-in for other shows, and other temporary assignments, as needed.

7. Handle the role of an experienced professional to bring out trends, competitor strategies and ways to improve and strengthen our own show in the respective timeband(s). Accordingly, assist specific teams in the channel in planning for shows / programming / approaching guests etc.

8. Interact with guests both on-air and off-air to maintain strong professional relationships.

9. Manage personal effectiveness by managing emotions in the face of pressure, setbacks or when dealing with provocative situations. Demonstrates an approach to work that is characterised by commitment, motivation and energy.

10. Adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups. Able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change.

11. Publish impactful stories on the digital destination. Write and create original material for digital output, including text stories, video and podcasts. Maintain strong engagement on digital platforms to develop and push content

12. Work closely with and under instructions from the Head Stylist
