About IP Optical Networks
Our IP/Optical Networks business group (ION) includes IP, optical and network automation technologies and related services sold to our communication service provider customers as well as adjacent markets including webscale companies and enterprises. Our comprehensive wide area networking (WAN) solutions enable our customers to build and operate automated, secure, and high-performance networks at massive scale – helping to interconnect people and things from any broadband access modality to – and among – edge clouds, central clouds, the Internet, and other services and data centers.

R&D Software Development Engineer for Network Management of Optics Division products including Photonic/WDM, Optical Transport, SDH/SONET. Optics Network Management applications provides to the user the control of the network in terms of configuration (infrastructure, end to end services), fault supervision, performance monitoring. Optics Network Management applications interface with the different Network Elements, provides friendly graphical User interface and implement algorithms and function to enable easier management of the network and OPEX reduction. Optics Network Management applications are deployed all around the word in several hundreds of installations ranging from huge to small customers. The SW development Engineer for Optics Network Management will be part of Development team and will provide contribution in new developments and maintenance of applications with the target to increase functionality and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities & Competencies
Competencies

• A strong individual contributor with 7+ years of experience in Software Development.
• Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java Enterprise platforms.
• Sound knowledge of CORE JAVA, Spring, Java Script continuous integration and agile practices.
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
• Familiarity with network management and OTN domain knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of YANG model with RESTCONF/NETCONF is added advantage.
• Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Job Responsibilities 1) The candidate should be self propelled and driven and should also mentor the team members 2) The candidate should drive the EPIC to its completion i.e. from requirement to analysis to design to implementation with quality and on committed time. 3) The candidate should keep himself/herself upto date with latest technologies used in our application and apply new ones wherever applicable.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a BE / MCA / Mtech in computer science, ECE or similar applicable curriculum with great passion and motivation for high Quality SW in complex and geographically distributed SW environments.
