Role Overview

The Officer- Communications is a critical change agent who will play an integral role in leading the development and delivery of integrated communication strategies that support the OMSI region’s priorities and change initiatives. The purpose of this role is to support the OMSI Communications Function and provide strategic communications leadership and expertise as well as driving successful communication change improvement across the organisation. The scope of the role includes both internal and external communications including website management, social media and all internal communication platforms. The position will work closely with business as business partnering role to achieve the desired goals.

Illustrative Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

1. Strategy Development and Execution

• Develop and implement the internal and external communication strategy for the OMSI in line with the APAC and Global purpose and strategic direction.
• Provide expert advice to the Senior Leaders on targeted communications strategies to ensure the effective delivery of key messages and buy-in of stakeholders.
• Work closely with marketing counterparts to align communications strategies across the OMSI.
• Measure the effectiveness of the communications strategy and various platforms on a regular basis and evolve activity accordingly.

2. Communications Development & Implementation

• Develop internal communications that spans all levels of executive, corporate and colleague communication as well as organizational change and major operational initiatives.
• Work closely with colleagues across the business to identify and produce content to support the business and divisional communication channels/activity.
• Regionalize information/communication received from APAC.
• Develop and manage the OMSI Communications and branding frameworks ensuring alignment to APAC guidelines.
• Identify alternative methods of communication when corporate channels are not appropriate.
• Write and contribute content pieces and instructional content, including blogs, webinars and press releases.
• Work with content editors throughout OMSI to ensure that their social media presence follows organizational standards.
• Manage all communication platforms including, websites, social media platforms (such as LinkedIn) and internal platforms such as intranet, O365 teams, Yammer etc.

3. Media and Community

• Be accountable for responding to corporate communication requests from internal and external sources including government, community and media, ensuring relevant protocols are followed in providing appropriate and timely responses.
• Source, edit and write media releases on behalf of the region.
• Proactively identify issues which may impact colleagues or the organization’s reputation through media monitoring activities.
• Act as a point of contact for all Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) enquires for OMSI and manage any CSR related communications.

Qualification – Bachler’s Degree in any stream with IT know how

Preferred Experience – 5-7 + years’ experience in a corporate communication with below desirable skills.

Core Skills and Experience

• A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, media, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent demonstrable experience in a related field.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication capabilities as well as advanced influencing and negotiating skills and editorial talent.
• Proven track record in building and managing internal and external relationships at a senior level.
• Highly developed strategic marketing, communications and project management skills.
• Proven experience in executing brand strategies ensuring adherence to branding guidelines.
• Ideally worked successfully within medium to large organisations with a global presence.
• Demonstrable experience in the delivery of blogs, press releases, landing pages and email campaigns.
• Experience in managing non-personal social media accounts, including Twitter, Facebook YouTube, LinkedIn, Google, with the ability to communicate in a consistent on-brand voice.
• Use of social media, mass email and website analytic tools and the ability to tweak strategies based on findings.
