Job Description
Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects. May conduct training programs
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. 2 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree preferred.
Responsibilities
The Oracle Health Sciences GBU (Global Business Unit) provides industry leading solution to life sciences organizations including pharmaceutical companies, CROs (Contract research Organizations), academic research and healthcare providers. The portfolio of Oracle Health Sciences includes cloud and/or on-premise solutions for eClincal (eCRF, RTSM, CTMS, Study Start-up, Clinical Analytics, and Clinical Warehousing), pharmacovigilance/device vigilance and signal detection, healthcare interoperability and enterprise healthcare analytics. Oracle is leveraging AI/ML technologies to drive efficiencies in industry data management processes.
The Global Environment Delivery Team provides Sales Demo, Training and Quality Assurance Environments supporting over 1,000 Sales Activities, 200 Training Events and over 4,000 HIPAA Compliant QA Environments per year across 50 products and versions and several data centers. The services we provide enable over 500 internal stakeholders with automation and high quality environments that are critical to the success of the business, and are managed using a centralized application that the Environment Team have developed.
We offer the opportunity of acquiring technical expertise with managing Oracle Life Sciences products deployed on environments hosted on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, using automation technologies like Docker and Terraform.
We are looking for a reasonably experienced person to join our team to support operations across all areas of our business.
The role’s responsibilities will consist of:
Performing regular administration and maintenance tasks of Cloud-based environments.
Preparing environments for training/demo/workshop/quality assurance purposes.
User account provisioning/management across a variety of hosted products.
Performing initial troubleshooting/resolution of non-complex technical issues.
Offering first-level support to internal stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Skills
Proven experience of Linux and Windows OS administration, with a good understanding of implications for server application install across tech stacks and platforms.
Good knowledge of network architectures and protocols, with experience in troubleshooting and resolving network-related issues.
Comfortable debugging OS-related dependencies (IIS Management, .dll registration, DCOM+, kernel/libs compatibility, iptables configuration).
Good verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer focus.
Self-motivated and resourceful: the ideal candidate will be able and willing to work on their own initiative, but also as a team-player.
Nice-to-have Skills
Strong issue troubleshooting and resolution skills.
Comfortable working under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Reasonable scripting knowledge in one or more of the following: Batch/Powershell/Bash/Perl/Python.
Functional exposure with the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure platform.
