Oracle Hiring for Principal Software Engineer – Microservices Frameworks (Streaming) at India Full Time

Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a member of Oracle’s Financial Services Product Development organization, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver leading edge SaaS solutions for the global marketplace. As a Software Engineer in the SaaS Platform team, you will use cutting edge technology to build platforms, development pipelines, automation, and other capabilities for Risk and Finance applications to achieve world-class performance, stability, and feature velocity.

• You have worked with distributed messaging systems and specifically Kafka streams

• You understand how to design and implement reliable streaming-based systems

• You are comfortable with demonstrating how to recover and maintain system integrity during failure

Qualifications

You are required to have:

1. Experience building applications with streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka

2. Experience running distributed messaging systems such as Kafka in Kubernetes

3. Experience in using serverless frameworks (such as AWS lambdas and FN) in conjunction with streaming and messaging systems (such as Kafka).

4. Understanding reactive and non-blocking architecture

5. Experience solving complex technical problems at massive scale

6. Familiarity with key value stores and other database technologies

7. Experience working with API Gateways

You are expected to:

1. Build complex reactive and non-blocking microservice applications that conduct hundreds of millions of complex calculations

2. Develop an application framework that will be used by other developers to build complex solutions

3. Build streaming based systems calculation engines that recover with minimal time loss during a failover

4. Conduct design and code reviews and mentor other developers on SOLID development practices

5. Show extreme ownership; despite being a very senior engineer, it’s in your nature to share on-call rotation with your team and respond to service incidents as needed.
