Oracle Cloud Operations are looking for self-motivated individual contributors and dynamic team players capable of working as part of our global team. As the Oracle SaaS Infrastructure Operations engineer, you will be providing Infrastructure support for our SaaS Application running on OCI Platform. You are able to work autonomously with attention to all details involved and following standard operating procedures and agreed time frames to execute. Expected to continually improve current processes and introduce automation with the aim towards simplification and maximizing service up-time. Act as technical liaison for our technical teams. champion standardization, innovate to simplify, increase efficiency while driving down cost. Ensure that the team are delivering quality services and that all SLAs are being met. You will need to understand all aspects of the equipment you support and provide a professional and customer focused service.

We are looking to recruit a Systems Administrator – Lifecycle Operations – Engineered Sys to the Oracle SaaS Infrastructure Operations team. The successful candidate will be in India. The main responsibility is to troubleshoot highly complex technical issues related to the Oracle Exadata and within areas like Real Application Clusters, High Availability, Corruption, Backup and Recovery, RMAN, Performance, Memory Management, Parallel query, Query tuning, Storage, ASM, Security, Networking, Enterprise Manager etc. The Administrator should have good hands-on experience on UNIX, Linux platforms .

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for 24/7 providing end to end Life Cycle management support for ExaCS Database Upgrades (Upgrade, Patching, Backup & Recovery, High Availability and Troubleshooting)

• Database administration (Install, configure, migrations, tuning, patching, administration & monitoring) on ExaCS platform.

• Ensure the effective daily operation of the production / database applications and provides administrative support for new implementations, upgrades, and migrations

• Effective collaboration with infrastructure teams, application development teams, testing and release teams

• Participates in rotation and shifts

• Participates in initiatives that improve overall product and documentation quality

• Participates in product/platform Certification/Testing

• Drives improvements in product quality

• Consults with Management in directing resolution of critical situations

• Achieves knowledge transfer through development and delivery of training, knowledge sessions, mentoring etc.

• Analyzes work load, determines best practices and implements changes to improve productivity

Who are we looking for?

QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical degree i.e. BE / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc. in Computer Science / Engineering / Math / Physics / Chemistry or proven professional and technical experience.

• Be able Demonstrate relevant Industry experience of at least 9 years.

• OCI Certification is a plus

TECHNICAL SKILLS

We are looking for a core technical person, who has hands-on Database administration experience on UNIX/Linux and/or worked as L3 level support engineer and/or having equivalent knowledge. You should have expertise in Real Application Cluster (RAC), Dataguard & ASM/Storage areas. Operating systems expertise / SA &general awareness on rest of the areas mentioned below, will be an added advantage

• Database architecture knowledge and administration

• Experience with clustering technologies from different vendors

• Thorough understanding of the Oracle database features

• Extensive hands on interaction with large Database management systems

• Backup & Recovery, RMAN, knowledge of various restore & recovery scenarios.

• Performance Tuning, Parallel query, Query tuning

• Networking

• Partitioning

• Database Security

• Enterprise Manager

• General UNIX/Linux concepts & Administration

• Managing Kernel Parameters, Partitioning and File systems

• Some NAS and/or SAN Storage administration experience

• Exceptional understanding of fundamental Network concepts (e.g. Routing, DNS, Firewalls)

• Experience in supporting cloud-base infrastructure (e.g. Oracle OCI Platform)

• Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Puppet, and other automation skills are a plus

• Core OS Services: SSH, SFTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP,

• Scripting in Python or bash

• Proficient managing Virtualization technology, Xen preferred

• Supporting X86 based technology including fundamental hardware triage skills. Understanding Monitoring and diagnostics to maintain equipment health and reacting appropriately

• Using Change Control tools to manage the site-service workflow

• Key filesystem concepts – Ext, NFS, HW RAID and SCSI

• Experience of performance monitoring and capacity management

• Essential awareness of operations in a secure environment
