We are the Ops Tooling team in Platform Engineering group. Our mission is to provide critical tools and experiences to OCI operations and service teams. You will be part of a team of highly motivated, and diverse people and given the autonomy and support to do your best work. We are looking for a Software Development Director with expertise and passion in building and growing our tooling platforms within large scale global cloud environment.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in designing, building, and implementing enterprise scale cloud services. You should be both a rock-solid manager and a cloud service generalist that is comfortable diving deep into any part of the stack. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a global, collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Responsibilities:

· Lead engineering teams to successfully deliver products and services.

· Drive operations excellence and improve service availability and scalability.

· Develop strategic plans to accomplish technical as well as business objectives with leadership chain, team, and customers.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

10+ years of experience in software development.

8+ years of hands-on management experience in software engineering

2+ year of experience in managing manager(s)

Experience in managing an engineering organization of 30Deep technical expertise in cloud technologies

Experience in programming languages like Java, Python

Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, proven ability to hire and grow talents.

Strong critical thinking and the ability to translate technical vision into actionable plans.

Excellent communication and social skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Background in designing enterprise scale full-stack cloud-based services

· Experience with test automation and quality assurance

· Experience with site reliability best practices

· Experience with container orchestration and engines (Kubernetes, Docker)

· Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software development

· Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
