Job Description

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Around 12-16 years of overall experience, in a software development company, in a BFSI domain.

• BE, BTech, MCA or PG in Engineering or equivalent, MBA / MMS (Systems / Operations).

• Bachelor in Computer Science preferred, but not essential.

• Experience handling a team for the last 2+ years.

• Experience tracking all activities of SLDC with multiple stakeholders, and reporting on them.

• Good communication and articulation skills, should be able to present to senior management.

• Experienced high performer in the earlier tenure as a software developer with current connect and knowledge in the following areas –

• Full stack software development. Knowledge of multiple front and back end technologies ideal.

• Knowledge in Linux/Unix, web technologies, networking, database technologies and replication etc

• Knowledge of databases (e.g. Oracle), web servers (e.g. Apache) and microservices architecture .

• Working knowledge of CI / CD pipelines created using Git / Gradle / Maven / Jenkins.

• Comfortable with 24*7 environments. Working knowledge of High availability and disaster recovery architecture. Knowledge of high-performance and scalable products with strong focus on application resilience.

• Should be able to track API development and ensure the preparation of API documentation using Swagger as per the highest prevailing standards.

• Should be able to guide team in estimation, prioritization of scope items and bugs items related to the above technology areas.
