Job Title: Software Testing and Automation Engineer

Job Description: The SaaS Engineering is an integral part of the Oracle Public and Private Cloud’s product development and maintenance lifecycle. We are part of an agile, cross functional focus within Oracle to accelerate our customer’s business transformations and their ability to innovate via a digital transformation of their business within the Oracle cloud. Oracle Cloud provides leading-edge capabilities in software as a service (SaaS).

We build end to end solutions for managing the lifecycle of the tech stacks in our SaaS cloud environments. We cover the entire life cycle from discovery, design, implementation, testing, rollout, and support in an extremely dynamic and agile manner to respond to constantly evolving needs of our cloud infrastructure, applications, and our customer needs.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

• Estimate, Prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.

• Able to perform manual and well as automation testing.

• Able to maintain and execute tests using CI/CD pipelines.

• Design, develop and execute automation scripts.

• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.

• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

Key Skills Required:

• Experience – 6 -12 years with strong knowledge on QA processes and test automation.

• Ambition and desire to work in a highly visible, highly accountable, fast-paced team.

• Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills.

• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to effectively drive discovery, architectural design, cross-functional reviews, as well as present projects and complex concepts to executive management.

• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

• Strong UNIX/Linux background.

• Good automation experience in Python, Shell.

• Experience using Agile Methodology.

• Experience in version control system ex-Git.

• Working experience in CI/CD pipeline with tools like Jenkins, Hudson will be added advantage.

• Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL technologies will be added advantage.

Hands-on experience in Docker and Kubernetes will be added advantage.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
