JOB TITLE: Manager – Mechanical
GRADE: MGR – P2
REPORTS TO: Head Mechanical – System / components
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Product design: Lead design and development of Mechanical system / sub syste, / components for new product requirement. It includes – Concept design finalization, 3D modelling, drawing validation / approval, prototype development, assembly and testing of various assemblies. Integration with other elevator subsystems, final release. Component qualification: Responsible for preparing qualification requirements as per code / engineering standard. Also support for qualification of mechanical components /assemblies at mechanical laboratory and at test hoistway. Ensure to meet the quality of design as per design requirement. Understanding and performing failure and risk analysis using tools like DFMEA, Risk Analysis, Root cause analysis, etc. Ensure new/modified design meets the standards requirement and local code requirement. Cost Reduction project: Identify value engineering ideas. Responsible to drive identified VE opportunities and to ensure timely release of projects. To release lesson learned document for component / subsystem design based on test / design mockup analysis. To release design requirement process for Mechanical Components. Responsible for Promoting and Maintaining safe Work Practices and follow the Cardinal Rules all the time. Strong focus on timely resolution of any escapes reported from field. To carry out RRCA and provide MP solution. Support supervisor for preparing strong road map for Mechanical component development. Participate and Contribute in Continuous Improvement activities — Kaizen Improvement in Process, Product, Safety and Quality.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution
EXPERIENCE
10-12 years of total work experience in research and development projects. Must have experience on complete design cycle including concept design to release of project. Should have experience with presenting to varied audiences including senior management.
