Pahle India Foundation (PIF), headed by Chairman, Dr Rajiv Kumar, former Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, is inviting applications as per following vacancy:

Organisation Overview

PIF is a not-for-profit policy think tank, founded by Dr Rajiv Kumar in June 2013. Its motto from the very beginning has been “Putting India First To Make India First.” PIF’s objective is to create a world class think tank that pursues rigorous evidence based analysis for timely inputs into policy making. PIF also provides a credible, trustworthy and neutral policy platform for bringing together government, industry, academia and civil society for enriching the public narrative on topical issues.

Over the last one decade of its working, PIF has been able to successfully carve out a niche for itself and earn a reputation with policymakers as an independent, extremely credible institute that can be relied upon for producing high quality inputs for policy formulation.

Job Profile

The candidate should be a macro-economist willing to work across different verticals such as financial sector (capital markets, banking, sustainable financing and insurance), domestic trade (including retail and e-Commerce), digital economy, MSMEs and must be adept at applied economic research and statistical analysis through use of basic econometric techniques when required.

The candidate must be able to think independently and creatively to explore new policy angles for research, reforms and development in the area of different sectors.

Qualification

 Preferably Ph.D in Economics/Finance/Public Policy or relevant fields with minimum 8-10 years of work experience in the area of qualitative and quantitative research and policy advocacy in the financial sector/ domestic trade/ digital economy.

 Strong communication skills and excellent written skills

 Knowledge of econometric packages such as STATA and SPSS and R.

 Proficiency in making presentations, report writing and delivering high accuracy in all work products

 In addition to the above, the ideal candidate would be a team player, highly motivated, particular about observing deadlines and prepared for outcome-based performance evaluation.

Primary Responsibilities

 Rigorous economic analysis based on statistical evidence

 Econometric modelling

 Data mining and data analysis

 Assist in writing proposals, discussion papers, issue briefs, policy briefs, reports

 Regularly publishing in economic journals/magazines and dailies

 Organise seminars, discussions and consultations Knowledge and Skill Requirements
