Pehlay Akshar Foundation started in 2008 with the core belief that every student has the right to an excellent education and to build the skills needed to be future-ready. We work with the philosophy of creating “safe spaces” for all – in classrooms for students, in the staffroom for teachers, and in the boardroom for our team – and believe in the power of collaboration and agility in responding to the needs of those that we serve.

To create these safe spaces for students and teachers across India, we partner with State Governments to implement programs that change the way students learn, and teachers teach in schools.

Role Objective: Government liaising support for all Pehlay Akshar programs.

Job Description:

• Represent PAF’s vision across geographies to establish importance of English as a second language as per NEP (National Education Policy) 2020.
• Build and maintain relations with all levels of State and District Government departments for high-potential collaborative projects. Be the focal point of contact for public officials/ policy think tanks/ policy makers/ institutes.

• Understand regional requirements and support Govt. stakeholders in co-creating initiatives aligned with PAF’s vision.

• Maintain records/ data for smooth communication, develop and manage documentation in securing permissions, signing agreements, MOUs, etc.

• Create weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports to ensure timely implementation of projects

• Stay updated with risk mitigation and developments in officials’ change, public policies, new government schemes etc.

• Work closely with the team to ensure all admin and compliance functions are well executed
• Research and author high-quality white papers, open letters and policy briefs for a wide range of stakeholders

Education Qualification:

• Masters in Social work, Education or other relevant post-graduate degree

Required Skills and Knowledge Areas:

• Relevant experience: 5-6 years in the development sector

(Experience in education/academics is preferred)

• Excellent communications skills & Govt. Liaising experience is a must

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to ₹700,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Mumbai, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• total work: 1 year (Preferred)
• Social Services Administrators : 1 year (Preferred)
