Product Owner I/II

Your challenge
Will you be strengthening our team with your embedded software design specialization and make a substantial contribution to the innovation of product and process? Can we count on you to develop new products, using the latest technologies and resources, often realizing systems based on unverified specifications? Will we be able to challenge you to show an abstract understanding of concepts but at the same time show in-depth low level programming knowledge of C++?
Your responsibilities include

• Contribute to and review the program vision, roadmap and content presentations.
• Prepare and participate in release planning, contribute to program increment planning, program backlog refinement, and preparation / prioritization of portfolio backlogs to continuously synthe into program backlog and then to team backlog.
• Draft the team’s specific objectives for the program increment
• Define iterations and stories for the team(s). Build, edit, review and reprioritize the team(s) backlog coordinating dependencies with other POs.
• Primary responsibility for maintaining the story flow.
• Define stories and provide input for user story details and priorities, establish story acceptance criteria, accepts stories into the baseline / the final iteration plan.
• Support team(s) with their story estimates and sequencing. Facilitate and lead sprint planning and grooming sessions.
• Manage content deliverables and dependencies to external suppliers
• Facilitate inter-team dependencies in the respective sprints.
• Participate in team demo and retrospectives. Work with other product owners to produce the system demo, deliver system demo for your scope to the business owner and product management team.
• Abreast of / participate in standards.
• Formulate improvements within the domain of expertise such as technical and process improvements etc.
• Perform work in line with the departmental processes
• Contribute to (SW-) technology roadmaps and other strategic related activities.
• Contribute to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of his/her area.
• Inspire other team members to get the job done

You are a part of
The Business Unit IGT Systems, which is responsible for marketing, development, manufacturing, services and solutions in the area of cardiac and vascular medical diagnosis and intervention. Our customers are interventional specialists in the cardiology, vascular surgery, neurology and radiology domain operating in a wide variety of hospitals across the globe. You will join a high-performance and culturally diverse department in a dynamic environment. The department consists of 35-40 highly educated software engineers responsible for developing the robotic subsystems of our interventional X-ray systems.
The Mechatronics Development Cluster (MDC) is a multidisciplinary cluster and consists of Mechanics, Mechatronics, Electronics including Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Positioning Software competence and expertise. MDC has full end-to-end responsibility for its products, from requirements, design, development and release up to life cycle management. The Positioning software teams cover a wide area of responsibilities including supervisory control, 3D Collision prevention, real-time-embedded Single Axis control, safety and field service.
The new team being setup in PIC Bangalore would work on various components of the positioning software.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Business Insight & Customer Focus
• Experience in managing and balancing multiple stakeholders
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Experience working with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) organization
• Excellent effort estimation skills
• Academic or bachelor degree in informatics
• 12+ years of experience in technical software development
• 12+ years of experience with C++, object oriented programming and SOLID principles
• Consistent track record in defining and maintaining complex software architecture
• Experienced in working with legacy code
• Experience in working in a healthcare product development environment is an advantage
