PipeCandy is building the largest and cleanest dataset of eCommerce companies and D2C Brands. Commercepedia, the proprietary technology of PipeCandy tracks over a million companies. World’s leading eCommerce infrastructure platforms are PipeCandy’s customers. About the Role: We are looking for a data architect to lead design and implementation of the data platform. The architect should manage, mentor, and/or coach the engineering team in their development tasks. Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, lead, and execute all aspects of the Data Platform
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, NoSQL, and AWS ‘big data’ technologies
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater AI functionality in our data systems
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
• Build Data Lake and DW platform to support analytical and AI use cases
• Engage with the product management team to collaborate on appropriate architectural and technical decisions with a deep understanding of the impact of those decisions on the products and services being developed
• Map out technical development tasks, plan and allocate resources and schedule the sequence of development
• Manage, mentor, and/or coach the engineering team in their development tasks, including task allocation, prioritization/ conflict resolution, up-skilling, etc.

Techno-Functional Expertise Required:

• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
• Advanced knowledge in building Cloud-based data platforms using Cloud-Native Technologies
• Advanced knowledge and experience in working with SQL and NoSQL databases as part of large data systems
• Experience with implementing machine learning algorithms is a plus. Knowledge and experience of graph data structures and knowledge bases is a plus
• Knowledge/experience using one or more of the following software/tools:
  • Wide variety of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift
  • Data pipeline and workflow management tools
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Scala, Java/Javascript, etc. is a plus
  • Experience with Big data tools and stream-processing systems on AWS is a plus
