Salary: Band 5: £20,159- £21,841 p.a, (£2,724 – £2,951 for 5 hours)
5 hours per week, all year round, Tuesday evening 5-10pm

Your New Role
In this role you will need to work alongside and assist the Specialist Support Worker, to ensure the smooth running of the weekly LGBTQ youth group and associated activities.
You will assist in planning, delivery and evaluation of activity sessions for both the group and individual young people who are exploring their sexual and/or gender identity and you will need to have the ability to establish effective relationships with young people; whilst ensuring a safe, friendly, relaxed environment.
You will need to assist with keeping a record young people’s attendance and keep the Specialist Support Worker informed of any issues or developments concerning the group. To participate in supervision as required by the line manager.
To ensure that the department’s Confidentiality Policy is upheld. Observe the duty to all Health and Safety rules and to take all reasonable care to promote the health and safety of oneself and others, and knowledge of child protection.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will have experience of working with young people in a youth work setting. preferably you will have experience of working in an environment which supports LGBTQ young people in a positive, proactive and effective way. You will be aware of the issues surrounding LGBTQ young people and their needs while working as part of a team in planning and organising activities and to ensure they are achieved in a timely and effective way.
