Our Search Team is responsible for making the data produced by millions of our customers discoverable and searchable. Our team works with massive volumes of data flowing through robust data pipelines to provide the most simple and delightful search experience for the customers. With our customers publishing a wide variety of APIs to the largest Public API hub, discovery and navigation of APIs is one of the core problems that Universal Search in Postman is solving. Our systems provide recommendations in various product areas to intelligently leverage the power of community to help you avoid duplicating efforts. What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the development of APIs and products while working with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Designers, Support and Product, Quality, Security and Platform Engineers
• Quickly build functional prototypes to solve internal and external use-cases
• Work with data pipelines with various ETL policies in collaboration with different squads
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers for best practices on data engineering
• Be integral contributor for planning roadmaps with all stakeholders
• Architecting, designing and owning search systems collaborating with all stakeholders
• Perform Peer Code Reviews

About You

• You have 5+ years of experience building applications in high level programming languages – Javascript, Python, Ruby or Go. We code primarily in Python and Javascript.
• Experience with cloud computing and distributed systems
• You have hands-on experience working on search systems like Elasticsearch / Apache Solr
• You have worked with Natural Language Processing, Ranking Systems or Recommendation Systems.
• Experience in algorithm and model development, validation, and implementation for large-scale applications (NLP, ML)
• Demonstrated strength in data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing
• Experience building systems to orchestrate batch and streaming pipelines
• Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles
• Fair understanding of front end technologies, networking, analytics on a fundamental level, proficient in Backend.
• You’re passionate about working with different tools and technologies to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• You possess strong Computer Science fundamentals – Algorithms, Networking and Operating Systems, and are familiar with various programming tools, frameworks, and development practices.
• You write testable, maintainable code that’s easy to understand.
• You are a good communicator who can explain technical concepts to product managers, designers, support and other engineers.
• You have curiosity about how things work and to learn new things.

Nice To Have

• Experience in Node.js, Python and frameworks/tooling related to these technologies
• Experience with technologies like Redshift, S3, EC2, Data Pipeline, Apache Kafka, Kinesis
• Knowledge of compute engine/data processing engine like Apache Spark/ Apache Flink/ Ray
