Responsibilities:
Collecting strategic data and designing, engineering, and documenting complex data sets (ex SFDC, Netsuite and other financial & operational databases)
Using data modelling techniques to bring cohesion to unstructured and semi-structured data.
Using natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision to analyse unstructured and semi-structured data.
Working closely with various teams within FP&A as well as the business functions, to identify problems and devise data-driven solutions to these problems.
Conducting quantitative analysis to obtain insights, developing these into workable solutions, and then following these through to successful delivery (while measuring outcomes).
Training machine learning models using existing data, and prototyping systems to test out new approaches.
Communicating clearly with various parts of the business as to the desired outcomes
Qualifications:
degree or relevant qualification (ideally a Master’s) in math, statistics, computer science, or a related subject with 10-12 years
In-depth expertise and understanding of the finance sector mainly on the revenue side is good to have but not mandatory.
Knowledge of a wide variety of general data science tools, from machine learning algorithms, to deep learning, data analytics, and natural language processing.
Both the theory and practical skills required to create unique statistical models.
Capability in multiple programming languages, primarily Python and R, and possibly others, depending on your focus (e.g. JavaScript, C++).
An understanding of, and ability to work with, unstructured or semi-structured datasets.
Knowledge of key systems used in the finance industry, e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc. would be good to have
