Role Summary:

As a part of PUR Energy Pvt. Ltd., the Patent Engineer will be responsible for patent portfolio development and intellectual property asset management. The work will include identification of relevant inventions which can be protected (Trademarks/Design Registrations/Scientific Patents), Patentability/Novelty search before filing the provisional/ complete applications, drafting the provisional/ complete patent applications and their relevant responses in the fields of Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, Structural Design and Manufacturing domains related to Electric Vehicles.

Essential Responsibilities/ Duties:

• Providing opinion on Patentability of the inventions
• Handling various searching projects including Novelty, Invalidity, Freedom to Operate (FTO), and Patent watches
• Analysing and Normalization of patent technological categories
• Extracting relevant insights for R&D by performing State of the Art, Landscape, and Whitespace analysis
• Report preparation by presenting key observations using drawings/ mappings that express an idea or a concept
• Drafting various provisional/ complete specifications for the inventions
• Handling National Patent Filing/ PCT Filing
• Drafting responses to First Examination Reports issued by Indian/ Foreign Patent offices i.e., office action responses
• Drive initiatives to continuously improve the quantity and quality of patent portfolio i.e., Patent Portfolio Development
• Should have experience in conducting trademark/ design clearance searches
• Having expertise to use free and paid IP Databases/ Technical/ NPL databases
• Sound technical concept knowledge and query understanding to absorb subject matter from various/ multi domains
• Responsible for other related activities as suggested from time to time

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical/ Mechatronics/ Control Systems/ Thermal/ Electronics with 0-3 years of experience in patent searching/ analytics and patent drafting
• Relevant industry experience will be an added advantage
• Experience in projects related to automobile engineering, EV sector, Li-Ion batteries, Embedded systems is a plus
• Candidates with Patent Agent certification, LLB or IP related qualification will be preferred
• Hard working ability and desire for excellence in executing projects
• Precise, accurate, and clear presentation skills in delivering the report on-time with quality
