Role Summary/Purpose:

Role is to coordinate testing of electrical/electromagnetic products and electronic components/sub systems. Develop and execute test plan as per customer requirements and provide test results/reports.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Design and develop innovative, scalable, flexible and test set ups, test fixtures in the lab, consistent with the validation requirements of the product design teams

• Shall have hands on testing experience on electrical-power electronics products/components and clear electrical fundamentals

• Knowledge of test standards such as IS/IEC/IEEE relevant for electrical & electronic product validation.

• Capable to provide estimates of the testing duration as input to planning process.

• Collaborate with external labs such as Transcal, ETDC, SKC, TUV, UL, FCRI, CPRI, Intertek etc. to leverage their capabilities for validations.

• Responsible for coordinating with suppliers, qualification of critical component suppliers, understand and execute quality assurance plans, verification of the components supplied and ensure quality standards are in accordance with the requirements of the customer.

• Collaborate with customer in converting requirements into a test plan and execute the same per the schedule/quality expected.

• Hold design reviews for test plans & procedures, test results reviews and document test results.

• Work closely with site cross functional teams of EHS, facilities, compliance, logistics etc. to enable the execution of test plans as per schedule

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics/Instrumentation/Mechatronics engineering discipline from reputed institute.

• Min. 4 Plus years of hands-on experience in testing of electrical/electronic products in the field of automotive / rail industry/ aerospace Industry

• Demonstrated strong understanding of electrical-power electronics testing requirement at function level, engineering fundamentals and the application of the same.

• Two years of experience/familiarity in a lab environment with data acquisition systems, instrumentation selection, Post processing/Test data analysis and application of statistical techniques

• Excellent oral & written technical communication

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability and willingness to travel as required

• Commitment to integrity & compliance

• Strong background on the Electrical components working and Usage.

• Background on High Voltage Electrical Devices

• Must have Knowledge on Electrical Switching devices, Motors, and Compressors

• Hands on experience with Power analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Current and voltage measuring instruments and Multi signal oscilloscope

• Functioning of Inverters and Motors

• Background on IEC Environmental test standards, Knowledge and understanding on Climatic Control Chambers

• Should have knowledge on preparation and understanding of Electrical Schematics, Panel Wiring and Grounding techniques

Desired Characteristics:

• Knowledge on Industrial EHS Process and EHS Standards

• Basic knowledge on Locomotive Control and Electrical system

• Knowledge on NI LabView DAQ System

• Demonstrated resourcefulness and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence stakeholders

• Self-starter with good level of problem-solving skills

• Ability to multi-task & prioritize effectively

• Team player with ability to work with minimal direction
