Role Overview:
The Assistant Manager/Manager – Litigation & Notice Management will be responsible for handling legal disputes, responding to legal notices, managing regulatory litigation, and coordinating with external counsel. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in handling litigation and notices for a large digital mobility or tech company, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, consumer disputes, and corporate litigation.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs):
1. Litigation Management
• Oversee and manage all litigation matters, including civil, criminal, regulatory, and consumer disputes.
• Work with external counsels, senior advocates, and law firms to strategize case handling and ensure favorable outcomes.
• Maintain and track case progress, filings, hearings, and compliance deadlines.
• Assess litigation risks and provide proactive legal solutions to mitigate potential liabilities.
2. Notice & Legal Response Management
• Analyze, draft, and respond to legal notices, including consumer complaints, regulatory inquiries, third-party claims, and statutory notices.
• Prior experience in handling legal notices from regulatory authorities (transport departments, labor departments, urban local bodies, etc.) and police authorities related to business operations, regulatory compliance, or customer disputes.
• Collaborate with internal teams (operations, finance, public policy, and customer support) to gather case-specific inputs for responses.
• Maintain a centralized repository for all legal notices and responses, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.
3. Regulatory & Compliance Dispute Handling
• Address legal disputes arising from transportation, e-commerce, IT, and mobility sector regulations.
• Engage with government bodies, regulatory authorities, law enforcement, and tribunals on compliance-related litigations.
• Provide strategic legal support on regulatory matters impacting Rapido’s business operations.
4. Contractual & Commercial Litigation
• Handle legal disputes related to vendor agreements, partnerships, and business contracts.
• Work with the commercial team to enforce contract terms and manage breach of contract claims. • Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions to minimize litigation risks.
5. Stakeholder & External Counsel Management
• Coordinate with law firms, arbitrators, and mediators to manage dispute resolution effectively.
• Act as a liaison between external counsel and internal business teams for case preparation.
• Prepare and present regular litigation reports and legal risk assessments to senior leadership.
