Job Description :
Responsibilities and Duties-SQL Database Admin

a) Database governance & security, health checks, capacity optimization, database operations, and performance standardization. Knowledge of SSIS

b) Administer and monitor the MS SQL Server Environment.

c) New Environments Build/Setups

d) Troubleshoot MS SQL Server, and supportive infrastructure-.

e) Provides technical expertise to application teams in database design, availability and security requirements for applications.

f) Coordinate changes and issues related to the database environment between application development/support teams and Infrastructure teams.

g) Support of MS SQL replication, backup, MS SQL infrastructure globalization, high availability, volume management, and Windows administration.

h) Database backup and recovery including monitoring, and verifying backups and perform ad-hoc backups

i) Database tuning and troubleshooting

j) Data extraction, transformation and loading

k) Create and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures and schedule jobs.

l) Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).

m) Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.

n) Interface with Microsoft Corporation for technical support.

o) Cloning non-prod environments from PROD.

p) Maintaining standby databases in sync with production

q) Code Migration Support to Functional Consultants

r) Handling Alerts raised by alert monitoring system from Database and applications

s) Handling tickets raised by functional/technical/business users

t) Database Reorg/shrinking Activities to improve the performance/to reclaim the unused space

u) Database maintenance to improve the performance

v) Monitoring Standby Databases and resolve respective issues

General Responsibilities:
a) Security Compliance, Patch Management, Major Incident Resolution, DR and BCP, Change management, reporting.

Qualifications:
e) 3-6 years of Experience in Core DBA for MS SQL Servers from 2K8,2K12,2K14,2K16

f) Hands on experience in Performance Tuning and Monitoring

g) Good Experience in Creating and maintaining SQL Queries, stored procedures and scheduled jobs

h) Certification a plus
