Job Purpose

The role would support the Project Development team in the domains of regulatory analysis, legal and contracts for the current and upcoming projects in solar and wind. The role will work closely with the PD Lead to ensure the timely delivery and signing of current contracts, focus on the future regulatory and contracting projects. The various types of regulations would be related to Solar, Wind, Battery etc policies at the national level and also various states. The role as an individual contributor would also be responsible for standardizing/improving the regulatory analysis process and achieving project signing/closure within tight timelines dictated by fast moving business demands.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategy & Results

• Working with the Project Development Lead to achieve timely closure of all regulatory, legal projects and contracts for Solar and Wind projects.
• Identify key issues in current/future development pipeline and work with finance, EPC, legal, commercial etc. teams to resolve them in a timely fashion.
• Contribute to overall regulatory strategy using a data driven approach.
• Develop and maintain KPI’s related to regulatory analysis for solar and wind.
• Contributing to process improvement in contracts/commercials and drive cost reduction opportunities in terms of time and cashflow .

Process and Stakeholder Management

• Coordination across finance/legal/contracts/EPC/project development teams
• Maintaining a dashboard of project metrics progress throughout the project period and ensuring the final reconciliation against the targets.
• Flagging off risks where applicable so pre-emptive actions can be taken by the concerned teams
• Analyzing the current project process and work on improvement plan

Profile & Eligible Criteria

• Graduate or Masters related to Business Management with hands-on regulatory experience in power sector.
• Good regulatory analysis and documentation in MS Word skills
• Knowledge of contracting process and related legal concepts.
• Demonstrated experience of closing commercial contracts as an individual contributor.
• Strong drafting and communication skills in English.
• Good Excel and PPT skills.
• Preferable – Experience in handling regulations/policies/contracts for Solar/Wind projects.
• 4+ years’ experience in Energy/Construction company.
• Analytical and able to manage stakeholders from multiple departments.
