SUMMARY

As a key member of the production operations Data Services team, you will collaborate with other DBAs, systems administrators, software engineers and production operations engineers to support development, staging, and production of Hadoop clusters along with Hana databases in SAP Ariba’s OnDemand Cloud services and global engineering teams.We are looking for candidates who are passionate about designing, building, and maintaining simple, reliable, and innovative operational infrastructure and having fun while doing it.

ROLE

Providing cluster design and administration support for SAP Ariba’s five nines critical globally distributed cloud database & Hadoop infrastructureAnalyzing automation, monitoring, and tools gaps in the Hadoop infrastructure and design and building processes and solutions to addressSupport in place Hadoop cluster upgrades as well as public cloud migration activitiesWriting and maintaining automation pipeline for cluster deployment in public cloud domainWork on Hadoop security and encryption related activitiesProvide on-call support and weekend maintenances for Ariba’s cloud infrastructureLearn and adopt additional database technologies such as SAP Hana, Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, Influxdb to provide development and operational support.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS

BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or equivalent practical experienceExpert knowledge on Cloudera distribution of Hadoop CDH5 and CDP7.x, HBase, Hive and Cloudera ManagerExperience in Hadoop encryption technologies like MITKDC, Ranger, Ranger KMS and Ranger KMS with Key Trustee ServerHands-on experience on GCP, AWS, CloudSQL, terraform, ansible and Jenkins8 -10years of experience administering large high volume geo-redundant clusters and database architecturesExperience leading complex Hadoop deployments and projectsTenacious troubleshooting skills: you can fix anythingSAP Hana, or SAP IQ server administration experienceAdvanced LINUX and UNIX skills and experienceFamiliarity with infrastructure automation using tools like Salt, Terraform, Chef, and PuppetExperince in a “continuous deployment” environmentsAbility to juggle multiple projects and drive them from the ground up in a fast-paced environmentAdept at using source code revision systems such as Perforce, GIT, Subversion or CVS.
