The Opportunity
The Engagement Manager will be an integral part of our CSR Advisory vertical, building positive relationships with clients, working closely with the team in designing and building solutions to enable high impact on the ground.
The roles and responsibilities of the Engagement Manager are outlined below:
Delivery Excellence

Take overall accountability of customer success through active listening, problem solving and providing strategic inputs which align with their vision of high impact on the ground and the ecosystem

Co-create solutions to meet client’s current and future needs, working closely with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally
-
Influence decision making and action at the senior level of high impact organisations to enable positive and sustainable impact

Develop, manage and grow working relationships with clients and key stakeholders
-
Ensure strong project management, team management and overall profitability of projects
Market Engagement

Keep abreast of new and current trends within the social impact space, approaches to enable scalable impact
-
Work closely with prospective clients, business development and sales teams to ensure accurate scope of works, high quality approach and accurate effort estimation

Contribute towards the organisation’s overall thought leadership strategy by generating meaningful content relevant to the ecosystem
Institution Building
-
Lead internal strategic initiatives at the unit or organisational level that help contribute towards Sattva’s continued development
-
Participate in building and strengthening internal systems and processes which contribute towards effective and efficient functioning of the unit and organisation
-
Contribute towards the development of junior team members, and towards a strong culture and working environment overall

Build, structure and develop knowledge to share internally within the organisation and at the ecosystem level
Client Engagement
-
Influence corporates on making sound CSR investments and practices.

Design and implement flagship social development projects balancing corporate and community interests.

Participate/contribute actively in ecosystem level discussions to establish personal and organization credibility.

Accountable for client success and achieving program impact objectives

High-touch stakeholder engagement and strong relationship with the client

Provide strategic advisory backed by analysis and effective presentation of recommendations and in-depth understanding of client’s work, and the needs of the program beneficiaries

Effectively engage with multiple funders and varied stakeholders like funders, third party agencies, legal and finance departments, event management agencies and other vendors to achieve program outcomes
Organization / Business Ownership

Lead the project team, taking ownership of multiple streams of work including research and its dissemination, through regular governance.

Plan the project to maximise the social impact outcomes and ensure that the project meets all milestones including profitability goals

Work closely with the business development team to develop high quality proposals to generate new business

Participate in building and strengthening internal systems and processes which contribute towards effective and efficient functioning of the function.
What we are looking for:
At Sattva, our goal is realizing impact on the ground and to drive a collective win by engaging with multiple stakeholders. We are looking for passionate individuals who align with our vision of creating an impact on the ground and have the following profile:

8-11 years of professional experience across business and social domains

Prior experience in the consulting industry in a mid-/senior- management role (preferred)
-
Certification/training in CSR/Sustainability preferred
-
Prior knowledge of CSR law, SDG, M&E and Employee Volunteering programs is preferred.

Prior experience of having worked in the social impact space on the ground is preferable
-
Experience of working in and leading a team
-
Fluent in Tamil as well as a good understanding of the regional development ecosystem (NGO partners/locations etc.)

Exceptional problem-solving skills
-
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively

Strong client engagement skills including experience of working with senior leadership

Humility, willingness to listen and learn
