Sensata Technologies, Inc. Hiring for Procurement Engineer at Pune, India Full Time

The Prototype Bill of Materials and Procurement Engineer is responsible for the procurement and timely delivery of prototype components and assemblies required for Engineering, Testing. He / She works closely with Design Engineering and Suppliers to ensure all parts will meet Engineering needs as far as quality, pricing and timing.

• Issue and track supplier orders for customer requirements.

• Negotiate supplier delivery timing, track supplier purchase orders, and provide supplier timing to management for prototype build scheduling.

• Create and release prototype bill of materials and enter all parts needed into specific ordering system.

• Interpret engineering documentation to identify change points that need to be implemented into Bill of Material and communicate changes to Prototype team.

• Work with Engineering department to resolve open issues and drawing discrepancies.

• Analyze and arrange internal prototype make vs. buy for new model programs for all commodities.

• Attend program meetings, submit procurement activity schedules, facilitate communication between internal departments, and work with prototype team members to ensure customer deliveries are met.

• MA education level, mechanical or electrical engineering with 0 – 3 years relevant experience

• BA education level, mechanical or electrical engineering with 3 – 5 years relevant experience

• As a Prototype Bill of Materials and Procurement Engineer within our prototype build team, you will be responsible for the procurement of technical parts within various commodities.

• You may even have experience from a technical purchasing role, where you have been responsible for procuring a wide range of components and systems for other industries not related to automotive.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Dutch and German are advantages.

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.

• Basic understanding of the manufacturing processes relating to plastics, metals and electrical / electronic components.

• Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and understand engineering documents such as automotive drawings (component, assembly, and equipment), technical standards, and Engineering Change Instructions (ECI).

• Able to work in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations.

• Analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and good judgment.

• Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, quality-driven, and capable of working with minimum supervision.

• Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, etc.).

• Proficiency in MS Excel including the ability to create reports and charts, plus mathematical, logical, and reference formulas in Excel including manipulating large amounts of data.

• Previous experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and MRP System experience (e.g., Oracle) preferred.
