Where you fit in
You will be working within Shell’s IT – Software Engineering team as the Design Authority (DA) lead. You will learn new things thru creative and challenging work as you will be interacting with product vendors to help build new capabilities in Design Partner programs, integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise solutions and many more opportunities to advance your technical background.
What’s the role?
As Technical Analyst – ServiceNow, you will also be considered as the Design Authority (DA) lead who will be the guardian of the guidelines and who will overlook the detailed design and implementation of the solution by the DevOps teams. You will also ensure any technical solution conflicts between business functionality if requests are properly addressed and decide on the most optimal solution.
Your further responsibilities include the following:
Acts as an independent decision authority for ServiceNow solution implementations and will work closely with the CC (DevOps) and the wider natural team.
Initiates the redesigning processes and use technologies to improve overall development on the ServiceNow Platform at Shell
Owns all aspects of the ServiceNow design across all implementations working in close collaboration with ServiceNow Architects.
Conducts the Quality Assuring (QA) all in-flight projects (i.e., ensure implementation per standards and guidelines)
Works in close collaboration with Data Architects and ServiceNow Process owners to ensure a fully integrated Process and Data design is embedded into all ServiceNow implementations.
Ensure that end to end process, data and integration design is applied for all ServiceNow modules current and future (ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, GRC, SecOps etc.)
Support the Release Manager in reviewing all new ServiceNow release items and where relevant / impact work with Process Owners and Change Management team to discount or incorporate new scope items into overall design in a controlled manner to ensure effective uptake from a user adoption perspective.
Act as a key collector of product gaps and improvement opportunities, appropriately document these items and flow these opportunities along with a value case to the appropriate route with ServiceNow (CIO office, Architecture, other ServiceNow engagement bodies as appropriate)
Works with the natural team to plan and deliver standards (i.e., SAFE & SIM) and guidelines in line with the ServiceNow roadmap and revision as aligned with the Shell Segment & Enterprise Architecture team.
Ensure a singular consistent design goes to Production.
What we need from you
We are keen to hear from professionals who have 9-12 years of experience in the IT industry specifically with a credible background in ServiceNow and Design Authority.
We are also looking forward that you have the following:
Well versed in ServiceNow development methodologies, best practices, identify coding issues, recommend solutions to ensure that the platform health is maintained at an optimum level
Knowledgeable in conceptualizing solutions to solve problems
Able to think of technical solutions to improve existing methodologies
Able to assess and validate code and configuration on the platform
Technical skills beyond the ServiceNow platform would be an advantage
Agility to work across multiple teams/ stakeholders
