Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Design Electric vehicles and its electrical/ electronic systems like energy storage, drive machine, control unit, converter/ inverter, charger etc. as per performance/ quality/ cost/ weight targets and plants manufacturing requirement.

Layout and packaging of parts in vehicle DMU considering all aspects of functionality and manufacturability/ serviceability.

Support vehicle programs through the entire life cycle including; design, prototype builds, vehicle test and production.

Conduct DR, FMEA (system/ design) and apply them in the design phase.

Define performance and reliability test parameters, procedures for such parts

Keep track of global trends in relevant technology, regulations and develop long term road maps and appropriate work plan

Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, weight.

Root cause analysis for quality issues using QC tools and countermeasure action

Define the overall activity schedule for all projects, monitor the same periodically and take appropriate action to ensure targeted deliveries

Handling diagnostics & flashing

Competencies

Technical/ Functional

Proficient in system architecture design of Electrical Vehicle & different EV’s.

Knowledge of vehicle powertrain and the interfaces arising out of electrification.

Knowledge about automotive industry standards and regulations, applicable globally, in the field of EV

Thorough in basic theories and design concepts of different electronics and electrical components used in various EV.

Knowledge of vehicle harness design, wire size selection, high voltage/ power connectors & vehicle electrical insulation requirements etc.

Exposure to manufacturing and validation facilities for key systems like Li batteries, BMS, Electric Machine etc, hands on testing/ test set-up experience.

Software skills : Matlab, C,C++, CAN and CAD (UG NX preferred)

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management.

Good understanding of all applicable standards/ regulations and their application

Knowledge in ISO/ TS standards for design, environment, information security and functional safety.
