The Role: Data Engineer

The Team: The OSTTRA Technology team is composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals, who build, support and protect the applications that operate our network. What’s in it for you: We are looking for a Database oriented software engineer well versed in PySpark/Python ETL processes, DevOps and AWS. Hands-on experience with Oracle or similar relational databases is a plus. You will be working on our Datalake / Data warehouse platform, developing and maintaining data ingestion, ETL and data delivery pipelines.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team based out of Gurgaon and to work with colleagues across multiple regions globally.

Responsibilities:

You will be working on our Datalake / Data warehouse platform, developing and maintaining data ingestion, ETL and data delivery pipelines. As we grow and align our ETL processes with more platforms, you will be involved in integrating our technology stack and processes into Google cloud.

• Hands-on design and development of new processes and pipelines using AWS cloud.

• Work with data and ML teams to develop new workflows on Google cloud and making use of a broader range of datasets within the company.

• The candidate is expected to take accountability of the development team and focus the delivery, driving a culture of excellence.

• The candidate will be expected to take ownership of development tasks assigned to them and will produce high quality software to deliver on these tasks along with accountability across the team

• The candidate is expected to be well versed in principles of and best practices in software development and should be able to apply them within the boundaries and constraints of the project they work in.

• With a strong focus on software quality, productivity and delivery.

• The candidate should be able to design or assist in designing components and subsystems based on the requirements and specifications provided by the Business Analysts.

• They should be able to decompose their own and other’s development tasks based on agreed designs and provide development estimates.

• They will be expected to communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders, BusinessA Analysts and Quality testers to clarify requirements and design. Their collaboration with Quality Assurance will ensure bugs being resolved effectively and efficiently.

What We’re Looking For:

You will have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on database development experience with a focus on designing and implementing ETL pipelines as well a hands on experience with AWS cloud and it’s managed services. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a dynamic and evolving environment where they can apply their expertise in AWS and gain hands-on experience with Google Cloud while playing a pivotal role in the development of innovative data solutions.

• PySpark, Python, and ETL processes.

• Practical experience with RDBMS and experience with performance tuning.

• Strong software design skills

• Experience implementing automated unit testing.

• Hands-on experience of AWS cloud (Glue, Lambda, S3)

• Familiarity with Agile working practices

• Experience using Git, Gitlab, CI/CD pipelines

• Should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with debugging tools.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in teams across geographies.

• Effective management of dependencies and timely prioritisation of tasks.

• Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
