The Role: Engineer II, Data Engineering

The Location: Hyderabad

The Team:

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled software engineer to join an agile scrum team developing technology solutions for S&P Global Market Intelligence. The team is responsible for modernizing and migrating the internal and product platform utilizing latest technologies.

The Impact:

Candidate will join Content Development team which supports mission critical Fixed Income & Equity data products. The job will involve hands-on fault diagnosis, resolution, process creation and optimization, knowledge sharing and delivery in high pressure client focused environment.

Success in this role does require in-depth knowledge of Python, AWS and Database technologies in the short term, Long-term opportunities working with the alternative technologies are expected.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent

• 4+ years of deep experience in Python.

• 4 + years of experience in processing Big Data using any Cloud Native technology.

• 3+ years of experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server.

• Hands on experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio / IntelliJ / PyCharm.  

• Experience building AWS Lambdas and AWS Step Functions using Terraform.

• Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-driven development

• Good experience with developing solutions involving relational database technologies on SQL Server platform, stored procedure programming experience using Transact SQL.

• Passionate, smart, and articulate developer

• Able to work well individually and with a team

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Good work ethic, self-starter, and results-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity and/or enthusiasm with Data Science / Machine Learning is a plus

• Experience with Dynamo DB, or Postgres

• Familiarity with CI/CD
