The Master Data & Reference Data Operations team within India will play a will play a pivotal The Master Data & Reference Data Operations team plays a pivotal role in the S&P Global Commodity Insight’s strategic transformation from a traditional data organization into a next generation data intelligence organization. In this role as the leader of the Master and Reference Data Program, you will be responsible for assisting with the strategy and leading the operational execution for the master and reference data programs within Commodity Insights. The role requires partnering with stakeholders, analysts and team members on an international level.Your efforts will help:

• Connect the right data, insights, algorithms and people to optimize processes, increase efficiency and drive innovation

• Increase confidence in data by proactively identifying quality issues with master and reference data

• Reduce data research and preparation time

• Improve the interoperability of data sets

• Improve time-to-market by reducing system development life-cycle time

Specific Job Duties

• In this role you will be accountable for day-to-day operational execution of master and reference data management priorities including evaluating and executing customer requests and issue resolution, capture of metrics and dashboards, and embedding into governance processes

• Establish and mature master and reference data standards by continually improving best practices, driving adoption, contributing to methods and strategies, while collaborating with teams in other divisions to propagate and align program components

• Partner with stakeholders to strategize and implement standards, best practices, processes, and workflows for related tooling (currently IBM Product Master); Manage the strategic vision, roadmap, and next-generation architecture of the data management platforms

• Act as the spokesperson for the master and reference data programs; pursing improvement, integration, and automation opportunities

• Provide thought leadership for strategic projects at conception, handing off to staff as progression occurs – ensuring timelines are feasible, work is effectively prioritized for staff, and deliverables met

• Capture data-driven metrics and key performance indicators to demonstrate business value, measure adoption, and bring visibility to improvement opportunities

• Influence and participate in governance bodies and embed master and reference data policies, standards, and best practices into the governance framework and practice

• Investigate industry and trends within master data, reference data and the broader data management discipline

Required skillset

• Able to communicate complex technical strategies and concepts in a relatable way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and executives to effectively persuade and influence utilizing visualization, presentation, and storytelling skills

• 6+ years of experience working within the data management discipline with substantial master data and reference data management experience including match and merge and establishing controls

• 3+ years of experience with IBM Product Master or similar master data and reference data tooling such as Informatica, etc.

• Ability to act as a change agent in moving teams to the agile development life cycle and familiarity with related tooling such as Jira or Rally

• Deep understanding of the broader Data Management discipline including data governance, data quality, and metadata management

Preferred Experience

Familiarity with open-source standards
