# Role and Responsibilities

• Design, validate, and optimise brake system (also parking brake) inclusive of brake hose and cable routing, and brake mounting.
• Benchmark competition vehicles for brake system.
• Design and optimise for Quality, Cost, Delivery targets and ensure QCD targets are met for the brake system.
• Develop brake system with suppliers in collaboration with sourcing team.
• Perform reviews and recommend changes – design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), design for six sigma (DFSS).
• Perform DFMEA for brake system. Contribute to vehicle assembly level DFMEA from brake system aspect. Mitigate risks in subsequent designs as per DFMEA.
• Develop the simulation and testing DVPs with respective teams for brake system.
• Interpreting the outcomes of simulations and testing for improvement in designs.
• Work with cross functional teams including simulations, program, production, testing, manufacturing engineering, suppliers, etc. on development of brake system.
• Product data management as per IATF 16949.
• Develop and update the Design Standard documents.
• Document the lessons learnt and manage the knowledge base.

# Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in brakes engineering in 2W or 3W automobiles
• Masters’ or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Automobile engineering
• Expert in Fusion 360
• Good understanding of current and forthcoming brakes regulations, IS & ECE standards.
• Engineering Materials and their applications
• Knowledge of GD&T, stack tolerance and fit analysis
• Experience in university level BAJA/ Supra or similar competition is preferred
