Quality Assurance Analyst
Department Overview:
Quality Assurance Center of Excellence (QA CoE) is the provider of software testing services across the organization. QA CoE is responsible for providing appropriate testing solutions and quality control for projects and/or release for the organization. The goal of the QA CoE is to create a best in class testing team, focused on leveraging industry best practices and processes for Software Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
Overall Accountabilities:
This role is responsible for effectively providing a broad range of test services and solutions, ensuring established QA CoE standards are met and planned objectives are achieved. The QA Analyst reports to QA Manager or Sr. QA Manager.
Job Description:
Quality Assurance:
Participate in Business requirements and technical walkthroughs and collaborate with project team in analysis and support solution.
Assist creation of the Test Strategy with accompanying artifacts, which includes scope, deliverables, timelines, types of testing, high level plan, risk mitigation etc.
Work with project and environment management team(s) to resolve environmental and project issues in QA test environment(s).
Create Functional Test Plan and Test Cases and work with other onshore /offshore QA resources. Trace back the Test plan for adequate coverage of all business and functional requirements as specified in the Business Requirements and Systems Specifications Documents
Participate in daily Scrum, Sprint planning and backlog grooming exercises
Track, monitor and report test planning & test execution for assigned projects
Participate in defect triage meetings and action based on defect status
Document test execution results and storage of test evidences in repositories as required
Identify regression test cases to be run in future releases and handover them to Release regression team as required
Responsible for all phases of testing: Sprint; System Integration, Functional and Project Regression
Support User Acceptance Testing for queries, defects and test data as required
Support for Post Production project warranty for defects and retests
Technical:
Strong knowledge and experience is using Test Management tools like HP ALM, JIRA, XRay, Service Now and Test automation tools like HP UFT, Selenium, Lean FT, Cucumber, Jenkins, Postman and Scripting.
Develop, debug, execute and maintain complex Automated testing scripts using various Automation testing tools and framework
Develop and run complex SQL queries for data sourcing and shall be able to test ETL, Reports, feeds, XML, API etc. extensively.
Experience and knowledge testing legacy applications developed in Mainframe / Progress/ Java / C++ and latest technologies, third party applications etc.
Provide insight, information and recommendations on industry trends and significant issues
Ensure timely notification of issues / problems and make recommendations as appropriate
Provide necessary test metrics to the management as required
Provide client demos to internal or external IFDS clients as part of agile project development
Escalate to Project Managers and QA Managers for any critical defects and/or show stoppers
Provide functional test plan walkthrough to internal stakeholders and external clients and respond directly for any queries
Knowledge Management:
Support training & participate knowledge transfer activities to the QA team members and clients as required
Training support for new or less experienced team members in the QA team and work to bridge knowledge gap in the team
Continuously willing to learn new processes, methodologies, technologies, tools, techniques and implement them in suitable projects as required.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Responsible for quality of released products
Responsible for identification and implementation of QA process improvements)
Responsible for measurement and improvement of client satisfaction, building of action plans to address gaps
Collaboration and communication with IFDS teams on initiatives, resolution of issues and risk mitigation strategies
Responsible for overall resource management for channel
Critical Requirements:
4+ years working in the financial / wealth management domain (No Loans & Credit cards), with strong knowledge in various financial products & instruments including Mutual Funds/ Segregated Funds.
Working knowledge of QA methodologies ( Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid Agile )
Experience working with 3rd party vendors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong negotiation and project management skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Must be able to work until 12:00pm EST and more as required to have better overlap with teams in Canada & Europe
Experience with Test Automation tools & framework ( HP UFT / ALM / Selenium, Postman, JIRA, Confluence, Xray/ Service Now)
Ability to support multiple projects in multiple streams for multiple clients
Experience in working with geographically distributed teams
Experience in Data sourcing , ETL process and proficiency in building complex SQL queries
