JOB SUMMARY
As a Release Train Engineer / Release Manager in CC T&I within the Product Enablement portfolio, you will work across the teams to help run the platform release trains from 3 aspects below. We are looking for ownership and driver to pull thing together form across the group using agile techniques, holistic thinking and planning, and collaborative approach, as well as a technologist that can push the automation and devops solutions and frameworks forward at the same time.
Compliance – Keeping all teams and platforms compliant with Governance, policies and release rules
Facilitating & Helping – Help the clusters and squads plan releases, board on the release trains in a timely manner, work through the release train process and changes and supervise the release to production
Improvements in the processes, tooling and standards from both bank driven changes and team driven changes.

Experience of end-to-end successful implementations of large-scale releases in a bank or a financial institution from a Project/Release perspective.
Detail knowledge of software development lifecycle with understanding of associated applications, down-streams/up-streams, products, process, and risks.
Release planning, execution and hands-on experience of issues related to releases.
Strong stakeholder management skills with status and RAID communication.
Strong Agile/scrum/SAFe team experience
Agile Evangelist and a master of the Agile Scrum method and concepts
Various framework scaled Agile experience and relevant industry certifications are another advantage (LeSS, SAFe, SoS, etc)
Demonstrated ability create transparency and monitor effectiveness around good agile and engineering practices through squad data driven analysis and conversations – moving teams towards self-management and ownership of work
Adaptive to changing situations and enjoy collaborating with global teams in a diverse multi-cultural environment
Passionate for solving challenging problems and learning new skills
Enjoys wearing different hats of Teacher, Mentor, Coach & Technologist
Good understanding on Release Management, DevOps, Engineering Practices, Quality & Test strategies
Knowledge and/or experience with various successful Agile techniques: Kanban, User Stories, ATDD, BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, XP, Agile Games
Scrum Master experience in delivering software strongly perfered
Previous experience working with Software Reliability Engineering (SRE) approaches (e.g. Release engineering, Observability, Error budgets, etc) and/or DevOps or Automation focused teams will be highly valued
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
Highly self-motivated and able to work well under pressure to manage competing demands, complex situations, people and technology
Knowledge of Banking ecosystems – preferably in Risk or Corporate & Institutional Clients domain with understanding of associated applications, complex systems interfaces, products, process, and Risk regulatory framework/models/reporting
Previous experience as a Technical/Team Lead advantageous
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant disciplines

Strategy
Awareness and understanding of the CCIB & T&I Transformation Strategy and how it and our teams are measured, which includes coaching stakeholders when needed on the why’s and how of various agile approaches and techniques
Business
Aware of impact on the business users and our clients that are product is built for – focus should be creating value quickly, however safely, sustainably so it scales.
Understand the interest of all the stakeholders. Engage effectively and communicate efficiently. Keep Business updated with relevant information for all releases & manage their expectation effectively.
Processes
Manage releases of the applications in the domain end-to-end. For all releases, identifies risks and issues early and communicates on timely manner. To ensure release dependencies involving multiple business and technology teams are communicated, tracked and resolved efficiently.
Performs Release Planning & Tracking. Follows Release Process Governance, Process and Standards using Risk, Issue, Dependencies and Assumption framework.
Follow and complete release process including pre-release and post-release process requirements. Ensure all relevant technology release processes are followed.
Practitioner of Agile principles and particularly Scrum and Kanban methods and concepts as well as various Scaled Agile frameworks (SoS, SAFe, LeSS, etc) are preferred
