Who You Are
You’re a curious analytical person who has the ability to bring big ideas to life. You’re creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease. You’re agile and adaptable and ensure we deliver top-notch customer experiences, always. You also have:
5+ years of relevant experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment (preferably global diversified company), with 3 years leading program at the country level.
Bachelor’s Degree in EHS management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or closely related discipline. This may be specific to your Country, State or Province.
EHS Certification e.g., MIOSH CHMM, PE or in-country equivalent
In-depth knowledge of environmental compliance, health and safety management, regulatory, legal systems, and sustainability framework.
As the Regional EHS Leader you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned EHS programs with knowledge of applicable In-Country EHS regulations and SBD EHS policies. You will have the ability to direct teams, manage and develop individuals. You will also possess the leadership skills to effectively collaborate with managers and department heads.
What You’ll Do
This role was formed to provide centralized In-Country (Regional) EHS leadership of and support for individual facilities to ensure baseline compliance programs are in place and functioning, and that material compliance and SBD corporate obligations are consistently met.
As part of the SBD EHS Performance Team, the REHSL has ownership of compliance and management system program development and execution and for material regulatory compliance at all facilities in the regional portfolio.
To achieve success all facilities in the REHSL’s portfolio will meet all material EHS regulatory and SBD requirements. Regulatory compliance and safe work performance are core elements of facility license to operate.
This role includes providing EHS managerial oversight of operations in their portfolio. Specifically, you’ll:
Responsible for building the annual Regional EHS Central Budget
Assure compliance calendar execution at plants.
Assure material compliance with applicable EHS regulatory and permit requirements.
Oversee the EHS Management Systems Delivery including ongoing roadmap compliance.
Oversee the deployment of new SBD standards & policies.
Development and onboarding of the Regional EHS function, Regional and Facility Leaders.
Conduct at least two (1) onsite reviews per quarter.
Review internal audits and track open findings to closure
Review EHS performance and gaps to performance. This includes maintaining compliance and taking corrective actions when needed.
Establish improvement goals & plans to drive to Zero Waste to Landfill, energy efficiency and carbon reduction at a facility level.
Assure resource adequacy.
Develop EHS talent and retain staff.
Assure Management of Change is rigorously followed in portfolio facilities.
Lead regulatory communications & interactions.
Oversee incident response and lead incident analysis and corrective actions compliance.
Support facility and Regional Leaders with the setting of annual EHS budgets
