Job Description

Working within the MP team, the Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and support of the systems on all mobile & static crushers and screeners being built in the Hosur manufacturing facility

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• To prepare assembly and component drawings of mobile & modular crushing and screening plants.
• Produce full manufacturing specification package including Functional Design Specifications, Schematics and BOMs to suppliers
• To assist in the resolution of problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process.
• Follow Group standards of in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing.
• Assist in the localization of control systems for mobile & modular crushers and screeners
• Follow Group engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data

• Ensure current products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability including compliance to applicable legislations and standards.
• Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers
• To investigate and address Customer Complaints in a timely manner.
• Support the Aftersales department in all related issues
• Drive standardization of components and sub-assemblies within Crushing & Screening products
• Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to modifications of existing designs where appropriate
• Design the systems to suit Indian crushing plant market in consultation with the Design Manager

Experience & Qualifications:

• Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering, ideally with design experience in the crushing or screening plants including conveying systems
• Competent user of CAD, Pro-E and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
• Experience and technical expertise in hydraulic systems and diesel engines will be added advantage
• A good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
• Creativity and innovative thinking
• Good English communication skill, both written and spoken;
• Good Presentation and interpersonal skills, particularly where English may not be the first language.
• Experience of international / emerging markets may be advantageous

• Position is based in Hosur, India.
• Some travel will be required.
