Team Leader – Global Hazard Communication (Night Shift)

Reports to: Supervisor Global Hazard communication
Location: Bangalore, India
Full-Time – Night Shift. (9 pm to 6 am)
About Team:
The Hazard Communication team aims to ensure that the hazards of all chemicals used and sold are evaluated, and the information concerning their hazards is transmitted to employees and customers. This information is conveyed using comprehensive hazard communication programs, which include container labeling and other forms of warning, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and employee training.
Role & Responsibilities:
Purpose:
Hazard assessment for all products. Maintain Product safety data in Agile. Prepare Safety Data Sheets – SDS are prepared in multiple languages and include information from different chemical inventories across the globe. Provide hazard phrases and symbols for product labeling. Respond to customer queries on Product safety. Miscellaneous Shipment review and Transport classification
General and task management
Ensure leading projects related to Hazard Communication. Support junior staff in their day to day work
Assist Supervisor/Manager in meeting the project timelines and the overall compliance requirements.
Provide mentorship for the Global hazardous communication upbeat specialists.
Develop, refine, and maintain training on corporate standards for meeting the company’s Global Hazard communication obligations
Lead and deliver on all key projects supporting key strategic imperatives
Serve as an authoritative business liaison across the LSLPG.
Provide regulatory support to internal and external customers including proactive engagement with the R&D teams to seek innovative solutions to reducing product and or process hazards
Supports all Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management tools and requirements
Assist in the development and implementation of policies, objectives, plans, and procedures for LSLPG chemical compliance programs
Chip in to calls for information and comments relating to Hazard Communication, Dangerous goods regulations
Determine U.S. and International transportation hazard classifications. Understand laws and regulations (e.g. OSHA, GHS, REACH) governing SDS authoring, downstream chemical distribution, and hazardous chemical management within the Environmental Health and Safety industry.
Be proactive in developing process improvement plans.
People Management
Life Science graduate with a proven experience.
Must have led a team for at least 1-2 years.
Experience working in Salesforce will be an advantage.
Display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly diligent and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities
Able to multi-task, prioritize and handle time effectively
Ability to handle stress
Customer-orientated and ability to adapt/respond to different types of tasks
Should be Flexible to work in Night Shift. (9 pm to 6 am IST)
Skills and Attributes
Project management experience will be an advantage
Preferred to have a Strong systems background in SDS management tools
Familiarity with Chemical Regulations like GHS, REACH, Prop 65, etc.
Knowledge of OSHA, EMS, ISO guidelines.
Ability to sustain and develop team working and team-based problem solving
High level of numerical and analytical ability
Possess the ability to lead and motivate a team of people to succeed by using appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives, and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction

Required Qualifications:
Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biology, or other life sciences.
Preferred with Dangerous goods certification (IATA, DOT, IMDG)
Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to accurately handle large amounts of detailed information.
Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and to work independently.
Ability to learn sophisticated databases; Attention to computer-use ergonomic issues.
Ability to read, interpret and operationalize chemical regulations
Reprioritizes work quickly to meet changing demands. Must be motivated to learn on the job and take initiative for training.
Can effectively and concisely present information across various levels of the LSLPG
Able to concurrently oversee/contribute to multiple large-scale projects
Strong English skills. Additional language skills (European or Asian) will be an added advantage
Excellent Microsoft suite skills. Should be comfortable with advance MS-Excel.
Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
Relevant Product stewardship/Hazard Communication/ Compliance qualifications
Consistent track record within people management
Experience with lean tools will be an advantage – Kaizen (continuous improvement and problem solving)
Targets and Reportable
Input of work in alignment to meet/exceed production schedule
Completion of the personal development plan for the team to meet the requirement of the site/company goals
1:1 meeting’s with teams
Development and training of team members
Reporting of important metrics for the team
Conduct Grievance and Disciplinary hearings
RCCM used for issue investigation and Countermeasure implementation
