Position Name: Middleware Administration (Websphere)

Location: HYD/Chennai

Experience Range- Min 3 to 9 Years

Role Summary:

This job takes the lead in Installs and configures the middleware components according to the clients business requirements and Troubleshoot , resolve middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments to meet customer requirements that adhere to Highmark IT standards and policies. The role requires more technical and solution orientation. The role possesses critical thinking skills and the ability to understand Middleware Technologies to provide insightful observations, identify trends and communicate these effectively.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Installing and configuring middleware software and its components and are in charge of managing the many layers of the Application

• Takes a role in collaborating with customers, Application users, Team Managers, SME and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Concentrates on providing innovative solutions to more complex business needs.

• Takes a lead role in providing required technical support, including release implementations, on-call and 24×7 supports when necessary.

• Performs work in compliance with all Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies and procedures.

• Actively takes a role and participates on project teams in various project roles, including, but not limited to, Application users, Technical Lead and Project Manager, based upon level of experience.

• Other duties as assigned or requested.

Experience Required:

• Bachelor or master’s degree in computer/information and electronic system with 3+ years of experience in Installation, Configuration for IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.x,7.0,8.0,8.5.

• 3+ years of experience in Installation , Configuration and Troubleshooting of IBM HTTP server on LINUX and Windows environments.

• Good Experience in configuring JDBC Data sources and configuring connection pool properties

• Expert in deploying different applications like WAR files and enterprise application archives (EAR) on WebSphere through Admin Console.

• Good in fixing temporary issues by restarting managed servers in the event of failures.

• Involved in troubleshooting various issues in different environments like DEV, QA and Production Environments.

• Configured IBM HTTP web server to route the traffic to WebSphere environment with the help of plug- ins.

• Good experience in applying the fix packs and refresh packs with the help of update installer by using Script, GUI Mode and silent Mode.

• Having knowledge on creation and renewal of SSL certificates in WebSphere environment.

• Having good knowledge on all aspects of configuration, load balancing, troubleshooting, applications, performance tuning.

• Assist Performance Engineering in troubleshooting WebSphere related performance issues.

• Create and work on change tickets/tasks related to WebSphere administration on QA/PROD regions on New Releases.

• Minimum 2+ Years of exp in working on Linux Operating System and good exposure in using Putty.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
